James Truong is the driving force behind The Import Yard, bringing over 30 years of automotive passion and experience. For James, cars are not just a profession, they are a way of life. Growing up surrounded by motorsport and car culture, his weekends were spent under the hood or behind the wheel.
What began as a deep fascination quickly evolved into an obsession for Japanese automotive engineering. From the precision of a Honda Integra Type R to the raw performance of a turbocharged WRX STI, Evo 9 or RX-7 just to name a few.
After decades of building personal imports and helping friends and family navigate the complex Japanese auction scene, James founded The Import Yard to help others enjoy the same rewarding experience, but without the confusion, risks, or wasted time.
But beyond the cars and business, James is also a proud father of two young boys, and that role deeply shapes the way he runs his business. With care, integrity, and long-term thinking. He understands the value of doing things properly, setting high standards, and creating an experience his clients can trust, not just for today, but for the future.
