1999 Honda Integra Type R DC2R – K24A Swapped & Seriously Modified

The Honda Integra Type R DC2R is widely regarded as one of the greatest front-wheel-drive performance cars ever produced. Lightweight, sharp, high-revving and built with motorsport in mind, the DC2 Type R has become an icon within the Japanese performance car scene.

This example takes that legendary platform and pushes it into another category entirely.

At first glance, the Integra retains much of the classic OEM Type R styling, including the optional front lip, side skirts and rear bumper pods. The increasingly desirable JDM front-end styling remains unmistakable, while subtle additions such as the cooling duct hint that there is far more going on beneath the surface.

Open the bonnet and this is where the build truly comes alive.

The original B18C Type R engine has been replaced with a heavily modified K24A engine, creating a unique combination of naturally aspirated power, torque and modern Honda performance. The engine bay has been extensively shaved, welded, smoothed and refinished, creating an incredibly clean presentation that matches the quality of the mechanical package.

The K24 setup is supported by a serious collection of quality components including a Hondata KPro V4 ECU, Drag Cartel 2.2 Endurance camshafts, ID 1000cc injectors, Walbro 255 fuel pump, RRC intake manifold, upgraded valve springs and retainers, ARP head studs, Toda timing components and a 4Piston oil pump.

Power is delivered through K-Tuned Big Tube headers, a high-flow catalytic converter and a 3-inch exhaust system, with the vehicle dyno tuned by Insight Motorsport to produce an impressive 180kW and 450Nm.

The chassis has also received significant attention, with Hardrace coilovers, front and rear camber arms, rear toe arms and upgraded bushes helping sharpen the already legendary DC2R handling characteristics. Project Mu front brakes provide improved stopping performance, while the removal of ABS and power steering creates a more raw and connected driving experience.

Inside, the Integra maintains its unmistakable Type R character while adding a serious motorsport-inspired feel. SR4 Recaro seats, a K-Tuned Race-Spec shifter and OEM DC5R aluminium shift knob complete the cockpit.

Finishing the build is a set of genuine 16×8 +30 Rays Volk Racing TE37 wheels, in Magnesium Blue, giving the car an unmistakable 1990s JDM appearance and perfectly complementing the iconic yellow exterior.
